Prosecutors want retired detective Roger Golubski jailed after he was seen at Culvers [Video]

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Federal prosecutors have asked a judge to end former police detective Roger Golubski’s house arrest.

The former Kansas City, Kansas, officer is accused in court documents of violating the terms by having lunch at Culver’s restaurant at the Legends on Jan. 23, 2024.

The motion said a concerned citizen recognized Golubski and took pictures and videos documenting the outing.

Prosecutors stated they followed up with Golubski’s probation officer and learned he had obtained permission to go to a doctor’s appointment but did not have pre-approval to go to Culver’s.

The filing stated that Golubski claimed he made the lunch stop because his blood sugar was low due to his diabetes.

Prosecutors argued against that excuse:

“If the defendant had truly had a diabetic emergency on his way home from the doctor’s office, he would have needed food immediately and would presumably have stopped at a convenience store and bought the first thing he saw or driven …
