A YouTuber was taken into custody in Kerala on Wednesday, according to police, for disseminating misleading information regarding electronic voting machines ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. For alleging EVM fraud, the Alappuzha South police filed a case against the owner of Venice TV Entertainment. He was taken into custody for urging voters to cast their ballots on paper.
Police stated on their official Facebook page on Wednesday that it was done to cause rift and stress in society.
In order to monitor online content in the wake of the Lok Sabha elections, the police said that social media patrolling has been increased in Kerala at the state, district, and range levels.
