BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – A Berkeley County judge denied bond for a man accused of shooting and killing a teenager in a fast-food parking lot in Goose Creek 2022.
Auquan Grier, 22, is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime in the Sept. 22, 2022, shooting death of 17-year-old Sir James Anthony Robinson. The shooting left another victim wounded, police said.
Grier appeared before Judge Deadra Jefferson with his representation, Peter McCoy, on March 4 asking to be granted bond. Grier’s aunt spoke on his behalf, repeatedly calling her nephew a “great kid.”
McCoy told the judge the now 22-year-old has no prior record.
The family of Robinson was also in the courtroom and Robinson’s father asked the judge to deny bond saying he fears what happened to his son may happen again if Grier is released.
