The Springfield Police Department reports a trend of vandalism and attempted thefts of vehicles in Springfield. Many of these incidents involved Kia model vehicles.

Scammers pose as real businesses. They create websites with bogus car listings. Then, advertise on Facebook marketplace. Customers wire the money. Then, find out it was all a lie. When customers try to get their money back, they contact the real owners, who have nothing to do with it.
