The Perry County Chamber of Commerce held its 15th annual dinner April 12 at Little Buffalo State Park’s recreation hall.
“We’re here because a group of concerned Perry Countians were gathering led by Jamie Kizer Brown,” Frank Campbell said. “I remember there was an article in The News-Sun about this lady who identified a need in the county and wanted to start a chamber of commerce. At the time, there was no active organization that served as an advocate for our county businesses, helping to facilitate their success. Thank you, Jamie.”
Attendees feasted on barbecue provided by LauraMae’s Smoked BBQ, sipped libations provided by Lindgren Craft Brewery, Newport Beverage and Tangled Vines Winery, and enjoyed the company of their peers. Campbell and Ann Simonetti, both founding members of the chamber who served as the organization’s first co-chairs, delivered the keynote speech together, which recalled the chamber’s founding and history.
