CBU selects interim president [Video]

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – The Christian Brothers University Board of Trustees has selected Brother Chris Englert to serve as interim president of the university following the retirement of Dave Archer.

Englert, a Cincinnati native, took his vows as a Christian Brother in 1974 and came to CBU, then called Christian Brothers College, as a scholastic and graduated in 1977 with a degree in Humanities.

He also holds a Master of Arts in Religious Studies from La Salle University in Philadelphia and a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from the University of Missouri at Kansas City.

He returned to Memphis in 1988 to take the position of vice principal at Christian Brothers High School (CBHS); after one year, he was promoted to CEO and served in that leadership role until 2018.
