Woodland Kitchens acquires Dundee’s JTC Furniture [Video]

Northern Ireland kitchen, bedroom and bathroom furniture manufacturer Woodland Kitchens has agreed a deal to acquire the Dundee-headquartered JTC Furniture Group.

Growth capital investor BGF is backing the deal, which Woodland said would allow both companies to capitalise on the combined group’s newfound scale to enhance their product ranges and improve service levels for their respective customer bases.

Co Antrim-based Woodland Kitchens was founded by Brian McCloskey in 1987 as a kitchen showroom operation and is now led by his son, Connor.

The company now brings in an annual turnover of £25m and serves major trade customers across the UK and Ireland from its state-of-the-art facility in Rasharkin, where it employs more than 170 staff.

JTC manufactures and supplies fitted furniture with a particular focus on the social housing and student accommodation markets and employs over 250 people in the Dundee area.

Woodland said the deal represents a highly complementary acquisition that creates one of the largest cabinet producers in the UK.
