Update: 911 services begin to return across South Dakota [Video]

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – On Wednesday night, several police and fire departments took to social media to notify the public that 911 was down statewide.

Update: The City of Sioux Falls announced that 911 services were restored in the city and that a press release detailing the outages in Minnehaha County would be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.

Agencies in Pennington County, Davison County, Kingsbury County, and more shared on social media that services had been restored.

Previously: The Department of Public Safety announced that they were aware of the service interruption throughout the state and that texting 911 works in most locations.

The City of Sioux Falls confirmed that Metro Communications is unable to receive 911 calls in Minnehaha County and Sioux Falls.
