HOLLYWOOD, S.C. (WCSC) – Chardale Murray is just one of a handful of women mayors in the Tri-County.
She is the youngest person elected mayor of her hometown of Hollywood.
She is also a business owner and mother.
She credits her parents for her ambition and drive.
“My mother told me to never rely on someone else for a paycheck,” Murray said.
As mayor of the town of Hollywood, she is advocating for home-front businesses and working toward affordable housing.
She is the owner of Murray’s Mortuary and has worked in the funeral home industry for decades.
She also served one term in the House of Representatives.
