MEDFORD, Ore. – The Salvation Army celebrated a brand new recreation center for the Hope House in Medford. The center has three computers, a cinema room and a workout room for participants of the program to use.
The Salvation Army’s Hope House has provided transitional housing and life coaching services to Jackson County’s homeless population since 1996. The organization prides itself on getting participants of the program healthy mentally, physically and emotionally.
The Salvation Army’s Regional Development Director Sharre Whitson believes the new recreation center is the next step in setting participants of the program up for success.
“When you can bring resources directly on-site to the center, it helps people to achieve more,” Whitson said.
