State to request bond to be revoked for owner of now-condemned living facility [Video]

INMAN, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The owner of a now-condemned assisted living home is expected to appear in court again on Thursday.

According to officials, the state is asking for 59-year-old Darryl Mast’s bond to be revoked because he’s also facing charges of criminal sexual conduct.

Mast is facing multiple charges of neglecting vulnerable adults for an investigation from February of 2022. An investigation revealed alarming conditions at Oakridge Community Care Home in Inman for vulnerable adults including a bed bug infestation, dozens of DHEC regulation violations, and complaints that many residents hadn’t received their prescribed medications.

Mast was recently charged with criminal sexual conduct in December of 2023 when investigators said a 20-year-old woman reported he assaulted her.

The Attorney General’s Office said Mast has repeatedly violated his home detention and therefore should go back to jail.

Mast was the owner at Oakridge Community Care Home.
