State-of-the-art city center coming to Loxley [Video]

LOXLEY, Ala. (WKRG) — Loxley is growing and fast.

The city is starting to outgrow its current municipal buildings. In light of that, officials just announced plans for a brand new city center.

Community flocks to Bienville Square as it reopens to the public

Loxley Mayor Richard Teal said it’s time for a change.

“We have outgrown this building,” Teal said. “The fire department has outgrown the fire department. We thought this would be a great time to go ahead and preplan with the growth that we are seeing.”

The city center will be right in the heart of Loxley. It’ll be located at the corner of First Avenue and Baldwin Street.

CITY CENTER LOCATION:

Mobile County Commission to consider Government Plaza roof replacements

Teal said the city center will be 45,000 square feet.

The new city center will incorporate every city municipality and department.

“From our city hall, clerk’s office, revenue office, HR, the utilities department,” Teal said.
