Voters in Springfield went to the polls on Tuesday to vote on just one measure: the school budget.Voters already turned down the almost $40 million school district budget on Town Meeting Day by nearly 200 votes. The district reworked it to around $39.5 million, with the new budget up for a vote on Tuesday. That measure failed with 466 votes in favor and 623 against. “Yesterday was the school budget revote,” said Barbara Courchesne, Springfield Town Clerk. “We had 1,089 people come out, which is a typical amount for a budget revote.”The school district said this budget season has been a perfect storm of rising costs. “You have inflation.
