Roy Hodgson ‘stable’ after being taken ill amid sacking reports as Crystal Palace cancel press conference [Video]

Crystal Palace cancelled Roy Hodgson’s press conference on Thursday after the manager was taken ill and have confirmed he is ‘stable’.

The Eagles boss was scheduled to speak to the media at 1:30pm amid reports he will be sacked.

But Hodgson did not attend after being taken ill during Palace’s training session this morning.

Posting on social media, Crystal Palace wrote: “Unfortunately, today’s press conference will no longer take place as scheduled as Roy Hodgson was taken ill during this morning’s training session.”

talkSPORT understands that Hodgson suffered a medical incident in front of concerned coaches and players on Thursday morning and required medical attention.

Palace have now released a statement to say: “Following news that Roy Hodgson was taken ill during today’s training session, we can confirm that he is now stable and is currently undergoing tests in hospital.
