PFD filing deadline approaching [Video]

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Time is almost up for Alaskans who haven’t filed for their annual Permanent Fund Dividend check.

The deadline to receive this year’s dividend amount is this Sunday by midnight. The state says on its website that it will accept eligible applications until 11:59 p.m. on March 31.

The application period opened up Jan. 1, 2024.

Most of the same rules still apply as they have for years, with the key points being applicants must have been an official resident of Alaska for all of 2023, not spent more than 180 days outside of the state in 2023, and must not have been convicted of a felony in 2023 or incarcerated due to a felony conviction within the year.

Residents can file online until the end of the day Sunday on the state’s official PFD website.

Last year’s PFD paid out $1,312 to all eligible Alaskans in October, the traditional time of year the dividend is deposited in bank accounts.
