NFL’s New York Jets granted permission to engage with Irish fans [Video]

American football’s New York Jets have been granted permission to commence marketing activities in Ireland as part of the National Football League‘s Global Markets Program.

Through the initiative, first launched in 2022, NFL teams are given the rights to build awareness and fandom in countries outside the US through fan engagement, events and commercial opportunities.

The Jets will look to engage in the Irish market ahead of the upcoming NFL Draft, where teams pick players entering the league from college football, and through activities such as watch parties, community experiences, player visits and event attractions.

The Jets, who won their only Super Bowl in 1969, play in green and white as chosen by former owner Sonny Werblin, whose birthday was on St Patrick’s Day.

“New York and Ireland have deep historical ties and we are thrilled to have an opportunity to connect with the country’s communities,” said Hymie Elhai, president of the New York Jets.
