(InvestigateTV) — Today’s Homeowner surveyed 1,000 American homeowners and found 82% have at least one thing in their home that needs to be repaired, and 60% of them really can’t afford to fix it.
Hailey Neff, a member of the research team with Today’s Homeowner, said they found many homeowners are delaying important home fixes for 6 months or more.
For urgent repairs Neff said the survey found 21% would use credit cards, 13% would dip into their savings, and 13% would pursue a personal loan.
Neff urged those faced with repair bills to shop around and get multiple quotes for projects.
She said homeowners should be vigilant and research reviews before picking a handyperson, a plumber, an electrician, etc.
