MUSKOGEE, Oklahoma. — Some Muskogee Public Schools students are being disciplined after possible threats to schools were seen on social media.
Early Friday morning, FOX23 received a viewer tip that some students were threatening to “shoot up” the 6th and 7th grade center in Muskogee. The viewer sent screenshots of a threatening text and a “list” of names.
Dr. Jarod Mendenhall, the Superintendent of Muskogee Public Schools, released a statement addressing the threats and said the students involved were identified.
“Dear Community Members,
During the night, the administration became aware of a “we do not like you” list created by a group of students. After conducting a thorough investigation, which included law enforcement, all students involved at the 6/7th and 8/9th Grade Academies were identified. Since the investigation is ongoing, all students involved will not be in school today.
