Mobile Chamber hosts 37th Annual Military Appreciation Luncheon [Video]

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – The Mobile Chamber of Commerce recognized current and future military leaders Wednesday at the 37th Annual Military Appreciation Luncheon.

The Mobile Chamber and its military affairs committee presented numerous awards and recognized local ROTC and JROTC cadets from the various branches of the military.

The luncheon was an opportunity to pay tribute to retired, current and future military leaders and recognize the impact they have on the local business community.

“Some of these kids will go on to serve in the military, but many will not. They’ll join our workforce,” said Janet Cobb, executive director of the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park.

“So, it’s a great time to bring the Mobile, community, the veteran community, the active military community together to celebrate Mobile business, but (also) to celebrate the legacy of the military in our country.” Cobb said.
