Loxleys modern city complex goes to construction design phase [Video]

LOXLEY, Ala. (WALA) – The city of Loxley has announced plans to build a brand-new city complex two blocks off Highway 59. As the city continues to grow, so does the need for city services and this will meet those needs.

Barbara Lovell opened the Museum of Loxley in 2021 and moved into a donated building just last year. Since being established, the response from locals has been tremendous.

“The people of Loxley have been very responsive and they’re wanting to share their history,” Lovell said.

That’s all great, but there must be space to display that history and the quaint building is bursting at the seams. A museum expansion is included in plans for the new city complex which is in the works.

“We’re looking at plans now,” Lovell said. “There are several options on how to go and…but all of it is good cause it’s more.”
