FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – While it may be considered somewhat uncomfortable to plan for one’s death, surveys show that roughly 66% of Americans have no will or any such document prepared.

Experts say that leaves your heirs open to a world of headaches, such as long delays and expensive legal battles.

“I’ve seen examples in my own family where, after the parents pass, the siblings just don’t speak to each other again because of some disagreement that happened after the parents were gone,” said Caroline Brorby, a Fargo resident who just had her will redone alongside her husband, Lauren.

“We wanted to avoid that, and just make it a peaceful transition.”
