Lakewood restaurant El Carnicero closing after May 5 [Video]

The Mexican eatery’s last day of service will be on Cinco de Mayo, May 5.

CLEVELAND — Cinco de Mayo will be the last call for Lakewood restaurant El Carnicero.

The restaurant announced on social media Friday that the “modern Mexican cantina” will close after 11 years in business. Its final day of service will be its Cinco de Mayo celebration on Sunday, May 5.

“It’s time to say ‘adios,'” the restaurant posted. “Thanks to all of our wonderful guests, amazing coworkers + skillful purveyors, for the great memories, experiences + support of El Carnicero! we are extremely humbled that so many embraced ELC + that we were able to celebrate with you + succeed as long as we have.”

The restaurant, located at 16918 Detroit Ave., will remain open for regular business hours through its closing.
