House prices rose faster than apartment prices in the year to February [Video]

Residential property prices increased 6.1% in the year to February, the latest Central Statistics Office (CSO) figures show.

The median price homes purchased in February was €330,000 after prices rose 5.6% in Dublin and 6.5% outside the capital year-on-year.

The highest average purchase prices was in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown (€620,000) and the lowest was in Leitrim (€165,000). A94 (Blackrock) was the most expensive Eircode area (€715,025) and F45 (Castlerea) was the cheapest (€135,000).

In Dublin house prices rose 5.9% and apartment prices increased 4.5% in the 12 months to February, with the fastest growth seen in Dublin city at 7.7%.

Outside of Dublin, house prices increased 6.3% and apartment prices rose 9.1%. Price growth was fastest in the mid-west (Clare, Limerick and Tipperary) at 10.8% while prices in the border region (Cavan, Donegal, Leitrim, Monaghan and Sligo) rose just 1.3%.

There were 3,327 purchases registered with the Revenue Commissioners in the month of February, a decrease of 0.7% compared to February 2023 (3,351).
