Fort Smith Mercy Clinic reopens four years after tornado destroys old facility [Video]

FORT SMITH, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — A new Mercy Clinic is now open in Fort Smith after a previous facility was destroyed by a tornado in 2019.

The brand-new 6,000-square-foot walk-in clinic is on Towson Avenue. It will provide primary care services such as wellness exams, X-rays, vaccines and more.

Since the old building was destroyed Mercy has operated out of a clinic on Zero Street.That building’s lease is being donated to the Good Samaritan Clinic which is expected to move into the facility later this year

“We’re just very excited and very happy to help people in this area and we’ve been doing it for so long, we’re kind of experienced in that situation and I’m very happy to be here,” said Dr. Fareed Kannout, internal medicine specialist with Mercy.
