FDLE arrests Pensacola man accused of possessing child sex abuse material [Video]

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WALA) – A Pensacola man faces 30 felony counts of possession of child sex abuse material after authorities say he downloaded material depicting children as young as 5 years old being sexually abused.

Aiden Russell Thompson, 20, is also charged with one count of unlawful use of a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

FDLE officials said the investigation began in December 2023 after the Pensacola Police Department provided FDLE agents several Cyber Tip complaints from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that referenced a social media user uploading child sexual abuse material to a social media platform.

The FDLE said agents identified Thompson’s home address where multiple files depicting the sexual abuse of children had been downloaded to an electronic device.
