City of Sand Springs says they will be building brand-new Animal Welfare Facility | News [Video]

SAND SPRINGS, Okla. — The City of Sand Springs said that they will be building a brand-new Animal Welfare Facility.

It will be located on the west side of town on Wekiwa Road, near the Case Community Center and Case Park.

Tracy Arvidson, the Animal Welfare Coordinator at Sand Springs Animal Welfare, said that she’s very excited and they’ve been in need of a new change.

“This building is just really old and it doesn’t serve our needs at all, so the new shelter is going to be a lot more functional, have more room, it’ll have a lot more of the things that we need,” Arvidson said.

The current shelter is filled with dog food, beds, blankets and cat litter that is taking up a lot of space, which leads to overcrowding.
