Britain’s cities and towns where people are most likely to be looking for second jobs just to make ends meet have been identified.

Nationally, some 43 percent of adults have at least one side-hustle, according to research by Finder.

Now, a study has identified those areas where people are most likely to do a Google search related to second job opportunities, which might be anything from dog walking and pub work to takeout deliveries.

The research, pulled together by personal finance experts at WealthUp, analysed Google searches such as “side hustle ideas” and “ways to make extra money” over the last 12 months.

Bury in Greater Manchester came out on top where there was an average of 525.6 monthly searches per 100,000 residents. That is nearly three times higher than the national average of 191.4.

The most popular terms residents searched for were “side hustle“, “make money from home” and “side hustle ideas.”
