Breast milk share program saving families thousands of dollars [Video]

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Parents know the cost of a child can really add up. Factor in food, wipes and diapers with the cost of inflation and that can be a price tag a family just cannot afford.

Families with newborns can also run into issues like the recent formula shortage, or not being able to breastfeed on their own.

That gap is where the Malone Center’s Maternal Wellness Program’s Milk Share hopes to stand in and make a difference for families. And the milk share starts with their brightly-colored van.

“The goal really was to provide safe human milk sharing for community members who need it,” Cydney Gaines said.
