Bowie ISD 2024 Bond to be on upcoming ballot [Video]

BOWIE, Texas (KAUZ) – We are continuing our coverage tonight of school bonds on the ballot this year throughout Texoma.

We took a look at Bowie ISD and its $65.8 million bond, but this is not the first time this bond has been on the ballot.

The same exact bond was on the ballot last year during the November elections, unfortunately, it didn’t pass.

So what’s changed, Superintendent Blake Enlow said the first time there was a small voter turnout.

The largest part of the bond will go towards building a new intermediate school for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders.

The reason why is because of the current issues facing the junior high campus, which was built back in 1925, it houses 6th, 7th, and 8th graders and is reaching its 100-year mark.
