Bitcoin dips amid profit-taking but maintains strong year-on-year growth [Video]

Bitcoin experienced a slight decrease of 1% against the US dollar today, continuing a cooling trend in the second half of February after an initial 26% gain in the first two weeks.

This recent dip follows a phase of profit-taking by traders in response to the rally, yet bitcoin maintains a fundamentally strong position, showing a 21% increase year to date and more than doubling in value year on year. 

This strength is supported by significant inflows into the spot-bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) market.
