Autodesk Launches Droid Design Contest with Disney and Lucasfilm [Video]

Global technology and software leader Autodesk has teamed up with Disney and Lucasfilm for the first time to launch its May the Fourth campaign, a month-long contest for people, ages 18 and up, to design their own droid using Autodesk software: Maya, 3ds Max or Fusion. The contest celebrates the designers and makers of Star Wars – as well as Star Wars fan-enthusiasts – while recognizing the franchise’s longstanding collaboration with Autodesk.

Starting today, May 4th, Star Wars Day, fans can go to autodesk.com/droidto submit their own designs for a chance to win special prizes including: a Mechanical Grand Prize-winning droid which will be fabricated and put on display at Lucasfilm, where the winner will also get a VIP tour as well as a meet-and-greet session with a Lucasfilm executive.
