AT&T users across the country are reporting a service outage.

MACON, Ga. — AT&T users are reporting a widespread outage Thursday morning in the United States.

DownDetector.com shows a spike in outage searches for the wireless carrier beginning around 4 a.m. Eastern time. Users are seeing “SOS” in the corner of their screen, signifying that they are still able to make emergency calls.

AT&T has not said anything about the outage on its website or any social media, but both individual and organizational accounts have posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, saying they are aware of the outage.

DownDetector is also showing reports of smaller outages for Verizon and T-Mobile from around the country.

It is unknown what caused the outage at this time.
