All phones, tablets and other devices in Spain MUST be sold with the same type of charger from this date [Video]

AN EU directive that demands the supply of a single-sized charger for all mobile phones, phones, tablets, and cameras will be imposed by Spain in 2025.

It brings to an end an issue with different sized plugs required for leads across a range of electronic gear, though in reality standardisation has been taking place in recent years.

All such devices will now have to incorporate a USB Type-C charging port, according to the Minister of Digital Transformation, Jose Luis Escriva.

The Council of Ministers approved a change to the law on the sale of electronic equipment in a Royal Decree.

From next year all chargers for mobile phones, tablets, cameras, headphones, speakers or portable game consoles must be type C to offer greater convenience to the user.
