Local EMA encourages residents to be aware of potential impacts of Hurricane Francine [Video]

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN)—As Hurricane Francine makes landfall, the storm will impact the majority of the wiregrass, and local emergency services are warning residents to be prepared.

While Houston County will not be in the direct path of the storm, severe weather is still possible in the area.

The Dothan-Houston County EMA is doing its part in keeping residents safe by starting an information campaign, where the agency will send out alerts through social media and other forms of communication.

The Wiregrass has seen its fair share of near misses this hurricane season, and emergency officials are using this time to ensure residents are prepared if the Wiregrass is directly affected in the future.
