Chamber Participates in International Franchise Association Roundtable [Video]

On July 19, Brad Williams, the Detroit Regional Chamber’s Vice President of Government Relations, participated in a roundtable discussion hosted by the International Franchise Association (IFA) discussing the benefits of franchising in a local economy.

In Michigan, there are over 23,000 local franchise businesses that generate nearly $25 billion in economic output and over 250,000 jobs. In Detroit, there are 5,400 franchise locations that create 58,000 jobs and $5.7 billion in economic output.

“Franchises offer a proven path to entrepreneurship, providing aspiring business owners with a strong foundation, established brand recognition, and operational support,” said Williams. “This can significantly increase the chances of success for those looking to start their own small business.”

Williams was joined by several franchisee owners, including representatives from Goldfish Swim School, Great Clips, ACE Handyman Services, Tropical Smoothie, and Wendy’s.
