RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Laura Van Antwerp, the social media influencer known as ‘Your Sober Pal’ and founder of YSP Adventures, is thrilled to announce she is partnering with Another Direction to offer Backpacking 101 July 12-14. It’s an immersive three-day, two-night course set in Tahoe National Forest.
Van Antwerp stopped by Morning Break to share how this course is a the first of its kind because it’s tailored for women who are embracing or exploring sobriety. It includes a entry-level hike to an alpine lake where the group will learn how to set up camp, cook and recreate safely in the backcountry. The course also integrates recovery-focused programming including share circles, journaling, mindfulness practices and resilience building techniques.
