KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Young Williams Animal Center has issued a warning after it received several reports of a man posing as one of their officers.
According to the shelter, the suspect is believed to be a man named Mark with a mustache and brown hair. Additionally, he drives a white utility van and approaches homes, claiming to be investigating barking complaints.
The person does not wear any shelter-branded clothing and hasn’t issued any citations, the shelter said.
Shelter officials believe the man may be casing homes for potential criminal activity.
The shelter emphasized that genuine Animal Services officers always wear Young-Williams branding on their uniforms and drive vehicles with clearly visible logos.
