David Murdin has been appointed as chief marketing officer at Warner Hotels, a newly created role for the business, with the aim of taking its proposition to the “next level”.

Murdin was most recently customer director at Wagamama between 2021 and 2022. He previously held senior marketing roles at Dunelm, Costa Coffee, Sky Sports and British Airways.  

At the adults-only hotel chain, Murdin will be responsible for brand, insight, proposition development, PR and communications. He will report to CEO Paul Pomroy who joined the business in March.  

The appointment of its first-ever CMO comes off the back of a recent rebrand and three years on from investment firm Blackstone’s acquisition of its owner Bourne Leisure – which also runs Haven and used to own Butlins – in 2021.
