Trucker Appreciation Day | On TV [Video]

TILFORD, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Public Safety took time on Wednesday to thank trucker for the vital role they play in society.

A Trucker Appreciation Day event was held at the Tilford Point of Entry off I-90. Highway Patrol Motor Carrier Services provided goodie bags to the passing tuckers along with a free meal and other refreshments.

Visitors also had a chance to get a first hand look at the newly revamped point of entry.

“The building itself is a brand new,” said Sgt. Brian Lyons with the South Dakota Highway Patrol. “We have a new inspection bay. That’s something else that we never had in the past. So we like to actually let the driver see it. And that way just let them know what we have.”
