SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – Spartanburg County saw more than $1 billion worth of investments in 2024, creating more 1,000 jobs. County officials say 2025 could be even brighter and more prosperous.
“Everybody knows this has been a challenging year financially for people at home, businesses and government,” David Britt, Spartanburg Co. Council vice chair and economic development chair, said.
In spite of the challenging year, the county still saw growth.
“We still had over a billion dollars invested in Spartanburg County and over 1,250 new jobs,” Britt said.
Britt is helping FOX Carolina count down the top four economic development projects of 2024.
Number 1- The new county courthouse: The $126 million project replaced the county’s original courthouse from 1957 and officially opened its doors in 2024. It also drew praise from around the globe.
