Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) ripped Vice President Kamala Harris on Sunday’s Meet the Press after being questioned about former President Donald Trump’s controversial visit to Arlington National Cemetery last week.
Trump has taken flak since last Monday when he visited the cemetery during a wreath-laying ceremony for 13 U.S. service members who were killed during the Pentagon’s 2021 withdrawal from Afghanistan. Images of the visit on social media preceded accusations that Trump’s staff was aggressive toward a cemetery employee.
An Army spokesperson said on Thursday that federal law prohibits political campaign activities at all Army national cemeteries and defended the employee. During a Sunday interview with NBC’s Kristen Welker, Cotton said Trump did nothing wrong.
