The Bogey Inn: Residents react to new development plans [Video]

New businesses have flourished in the Shawnee Hills area in the past couple years and CEO of Rise Brands Troy Allen hopes to keep the legacy of The Bogey Inn alive.

DUBLIN, Ohio — As cars drove past the iconic Bogey Inn in Dublin, heads turned while each brick was knocked down.

Rise Brands, the company behind Pins Mechanical Co., is taking over and transforming the infamous joint into an entertainment campus.

“Something needed to happen,” said Greg Nelson.

Nelson owns an automotive business directly across the street from The Bogey Inn on Glick Road.

“It was a popular spot before and I’m sure it’s going to continue to be,” said Nelson.

While the restaurant closed nearly three years ago after the owner passed away, it was open to the public for a limited time during the Memorial Tournament.

Now, Rise Brands plans to turn it into an indoor-outdoor food joint with live entertainment and a 27-hole putting course.
