The innovative concept centres around individuals who communicate through sign language, drawing inspiration from deaf celebrities who have leveraged their fame to promote awareness, reports the Mirror.
Rose Ayling-Ellis, former EastEnders star, made history as the first deaf participant on Strictly Come Dancing in 2021, ultimately clinching the title. Concurrently, Love Island’s Tasha Ghouri is vying for victory in this year’s competition, securing her spot as a finalist in the results show aired on Sunday night (December 8).
TV bosses are scouting for singletons who are deaf, proficient in British Sign Language, or CODAs (children of deaf adults), aged between 25-35, for this groundbreaking programme. An insider revealed to The Sun: “The creators have just put out a casting call for people in their twenties and thirties, who might like to take part.”
