Stop & Shop releases list of underperforming stores set to close [Video]

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – Stop & Shop has announced which of their “underperforming” stores will close on or before November 2.

The supermarket chain announced in May that they had made the “difficult decision” to close select stores “to help ensure the long-term health and future growth for our business.”

On Friday, they announced 32 locations that are slated to close and that specific closing dates will be communicated to local shoppers “well in advance” of any closure. Stop & Shop President Gordon Reid added, that “…all of our store associates will continue to have a place in the Stop & Shop family as we look forward to serving customers at other nearby locations.”
