TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) – Leaders of Tuscaloosa County’s three largest municipalities explained where they’re investing resources and improving the quality of life for residents in a ‘State of the Community’ address Thursday morning.
Public safety and economic growth highlighted much of the discussions for the State of the Community meeting hosted by the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama in front of a packed audience at the Bryant Conference Center.
The address included hearing from Tuscaloosa and Northport mayors as well as Tuscaloosa County’s Probate Judge.
Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox explained how the city is using technology to make up for fewer police officers.
“We’ll be touching on briefly an expansion of our cyber intelligence division at the Tuscaloosa Police Department. We know we can use technology as a force multiplier,” said Mayor Walt Maddox.
