Southern Arizona college announces new logistics, supply chain course [Video]

YUMA, AZ (AZFamily)—A Yuma college is starting a new logistics course in October to address issues associated with supply chain demand.

Arizona Western College’s course will focus on basic logistics, including transportation, customer service, warehousing goods, and the best product delivery routes.

Buna George, the Executive Director of the Greater Yuma Port Authority, ensures that ties and trade between the U.S. and Mexico run efficiently at the San Luis Commercial Port. She is always looking for ways to improve trade and growth opportunities.

The San Luis Commercial Port sees 3,200 trucks pass through each month. George said there is a crucial need for these supply chain skills in the workforce, so she will teach the new course at AWC.

George said she wants to “make sure the students have an understanding of the world and how it continuously moves.”
