Shawn Michaels Believes NXT Encapsulates What Made ECW Special [Video]

Shawn Michaels compares WWE NXT to the original ECW ahead of the brand hosting television at the 2300 Arena next month.

WWE Vice President of Talent Development Shawn Michaels was a recent guest on Busted Open Radio. When asked about WWE NXT coming to the ECW Arena next month, Michaels spoke on what he believes are similarities between the two brands.

“It’s huge. As strange as it sounds, I thought it was so awesome and innovative, what [ECW] was doing at that time,” Shawn Michaels said. “I recognized that, at that time, from a WWE standpoint, we were never going to be able to do it.
