Sex offender convicted in Maryland use Quora to find victims [Video]

The man was found reaching out to minors and leaving inappropriate comments.

WHITE PLAINS, Md. — A White Plains man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for the solicitation of child porn through the social media site Quora.

Johnny Darrell Hammonds, 54, was convicted of four counts of solicitation of child porn. In addition to the years he’ll spend in prison, Hammonds will be required to serve five years of supervised probation when released. 

In July 2023, an officer of the Charles County Sherriff’s Office received an anonymous tip that Hammonds was sexually harassing the tipster and also reported that Hammonds was using the site, Quora, to send the messages.

An investigation revealed that Hammonds was using the site to reach out to minors and leave inappropriate comments. Additionally, he exchanged inappropriate messages with four minor female victims and asked them to send sexually explicit photographs.
