Sen. Rounds states downsizing of USPS in South Dakota paused [Video]

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – On social media on Monday, Gov. Mike Rounds stated that the postal service is pausing the downsizing of South Dakota mail processing facilities.

According to Sen. Rounds, the pause follows concerns and the senator’s letter to Postmaster Louis DeJoy.

Previously, we reported that after concerns were raised about a 10-year plan that proposed moving some processing from Sioux Falls to Omaha, the United States Postal Service announced it would keep the Sioux Falls facility open as a Local Processing Center and invest $12.75 million into the facility. That plan would also mean transferring mail processing outgoing operations to the Omaha Processing and Distribution Center.
