Ruston police warn against leaving valuables in car after string of vehicle burglaries [Video]

RUSTON, La. (KNOE) – The Ruston Police Department is urging residents to lock their vehicles.

In a social media post, RPD said in part, “We need your help, Ruston! Over the past night, 5 vehicles have been broken into, with valuable items such as weapons, credit cards, purses, and more stolen.”

According to RPD, the following tips can help keep your property safe:

  • Lock your vehicles when not in use.
  • Remove valuables such as wallets, purses, electronics, and weapons from your car.
  • Bring items inside your home overnight to avoid leaving them in your vehicle.
